Announcing our new Level 3 Award in Education and Training courses

by | 11 Apr 2019 | News

Edenfield are delighted to launch our new Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) courses, available from April 2019.

The AET replaces ‘PTLLS’, and is a nationally recognised, Ofqual regulated teaching and training qualification. It also provides delegates with a fantastic insight into training delivery, session planning and the education and skills environment from a vocational or workplace perspective.

Who is the qualification for?

The AET is the ideal choice for anyone with responsibility for planning and delivering training in the workplace or lifelong learning sector, someone looking to move into a training-related role or enhance their CV in relation to delivering training. This may include those involved in either classroom-style or on-the-job delivery, or who may be working with schools, colleges or professional organisations (such as adult learning providers or national governing bodies of sport).

The nature and approach of our AET courses means that the knowledge gained can be applied to any topic and environment!

How are the courses delivered?

The AET course will take place over three days ‘in the classroom’ at one of our training centres. These are either consecutive days or one-day sessions spread over several weeks.

During the course, delegates will undertake a range of theory, group and practical activities  to equip them with a knowledge and understanding of the lifelong learning sector (including learning styles, planning inclusive training, teaching and learning techniques and assessment principles), and the skills and confidence to plan and deliver a training session. The full course syllabus can be found here.

Some independent study is also involved, but we’ll ensure that you have all of the tools and resources needed, along with any additional tutor support that may be required. There are no pre-requisites required for this course.

Who will deliver the courses?

Our AET tutors are qualified teachers who have extensive education and skills experience in a range of subjects and settings, including public and private sector organisations, working with awarding bodies to develop qualifications and delivering vocational learning and apprenticeships.

Is the course accredited?

The AET is on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) at level 3, and our course is also fully CPD accredited. This means that certificates are nationally recognised and universally accepted by employers.
